Good Evening Everyone,
I was trying to think about what I should write for my next post, I thought and thought and finally I knew exactly what I should be writing about. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there are so many ways that college students can get involved and support this awesome cause. This past Saturday morning I ran the sixth annual breast cancer awareness walk, run and roll that was held in Cougar Village at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. My best friend and I signed up to run and we even purchased tee-shirts, all of the tee-shirt money went directly to the Susan G. Komen foundation! I also noticed that there are really a lot of different tee-shirts that are available to anyone that directly affect the fight against breast cancer. I noticed a flyer that was selling tee-shirts today on a bulletin board, it was sponsored by the organization Colleges Against Cancer. I believe that the tee-shirt read, “A Feel A Day Keeps The Doctor Away” witty and funny but it is still relaying a very important message to individuals!
I am a huge NFL fan and I love the month of October because, as many of you know, many NFL teams wear pink gloves, pink shoes, pink sweat bands, or pink shoe laces even all to show their support in the cause! I always find myself thinking that breast cancer is something that only happens to women, but we all know that this is not the case and I think that the NFL serves as a reminder that men are at great risk too. The NFL website even offers special breast cancer awareness items that are for sale, like jerseys, hats, gloves, shirts and even specialty items. I know that I am thinking about purchasing some “pink” sponsored New England Patriots gear! There are so many different ways to get involved and show your support, I encourage all of you to make your contribution and help find a cure to this disease that effects so many men and women.

I agree, I love how all the Breast Cancer Awareness attire has a good sense of humor but it also gets the message across! There are some cute items at the bookstore on campus that are adorable! I might just have to get myself a t-shirt and help support the cause!
Kelsey,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my post! I haven’t stopped by the University Bookstore yet to check out the breast cancer awareness items, I definitely might have to do that tomorrow. I hope that there are some cute tee-shirts for sale! I am a bit of a tee-shirt fanatic
Thank you again for stopping by and commenting, I hope you have a good rest of your night and week!
